Two triangles, one flipped horizontally and one vertically, with arrows indicating the flip direction.

Ever wanted to flip an image in Google Slides but not sure exactly how to do it? Don’t worry! It’s really very simple. This article shows the steps to easily flip the image horizontally or vertically. So, let’s get started!

Step 1: Open Your Google Slides Presentation

First of all, open up the presentation in Google Slides where you want to flip an image. You can create a new presentation or open up one that already exists.

Step 2: Add Your Image

If you haven’t added your image yet, here is how you do that:

  1. Head to the “Insert” tab located at the top of the screen.
  2. Hover over “Image” and select where you want your image to come from. Source: computer, Google Drive, Google Photos.
  3. Click on your image, and it will be placed on your slide.

Step 3: Choose the Image

After inserting the image into your slide, click on it to select it. You’ll see a blue outline around the image, which means it’s ready to be edited.

Step 4: Flip the Image

Now, let’s turn the image around! Here’s how you do it:

  1. Right-click on the selected image. A menu will appear.
  2. Hover over “Rotate” in the menu. You’ll see options to rotate or flip the image.
  • Flip horizontally: This will flip the image from left to right, like a mirror.
  • Flip vertically: This will turn the image upside-down.
  1. Click on the option you want (either Flip horizontally or Flip vertically), and your image will flip instantly on the slide.

Step 5: Tweak and Move the Flipped Image (Optional)

Once you’ve flipped the image, you may need to reposition it. Just click and drag the image to move it around or resize it by dragging the corners.

Quick Tips

  • Undo a Flip: If you change your mind and want to undo the flip, simply press Ctrl + Z (or Command + Z on a Mac), and it will go back to its original position.
  • Experiment with Rotations: Besides flipping, you can rotate your image in various ways by choosing the Rotate options.

And that is it! You now know how to flip an image in Google Slides. It is fast and easy to get your images looking just right for your presentation. Happy creating!
